Saturday 10 December 2016 saw the long-awaited re-opening of the Kidney Support Network (KSN) Sunshine Coast Regional Branch, to support local kidney Patients and Volunteers.


Since loss of Queensland Chronic Disease support funding in 2013, assistance for Kidney Patients on the Sunshine Coast had been sadly scaled down, with our two Opportunity Shops flying the flag for KSN and raising crucial community funds; and to maintain a KSN presence on the Coast.

The KSN Management Committee has recently invested in a new Op Shop at Currimundi which also hosts our Regional Office, located at 1 Gannawarra Street Currimundi. The new office will enable KSN to once again deliver our personalised support for people impacted by Kidney Disease on the Sunshine Coast.

 sunshine-coast-kidney-patient-transport-vehicleWe also unveiled our brand new Patient Transport vehicle, secured through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund this year and supplied by Caloundra City Autos. Our  dynamic Branch Coordinator Kathy Rayner, was also introduced.

A happy crowd joined in the activities on Saturday, including Op Shop sales, Raffles, Lucky Door prizes, BBQ; and entertainment by the Marc Bright Joyologynow Group, including face and body art, Wishing Mural and balloon tricks.





KSN was delighted that Mark McArdle, State Member for Caloundra was able attend the Opening, along with Representatives from TURSA Employment and Training, who have assisted KSN to identify the right Coordinator to get things moving again on the Sunshine Coast for KSN.
